Its CNY yo~! ^^

My brother and I in the car

The Chinese New Year in year 2014 was indeed a different one to my family and I.
The first day of Lunar New Year falls on a Friday this year, so we went back to my mom's hometown in Mahsan first. My brother volunteered to drive so the journey was a little bumpy since it was 6 months before he last drove.

Thankfully we managed to reach our Grandma's house safetly. For those of you who do not know where is Mahsan, it is actually a small village in Negeri Sembilan. To get there, you'll need to go through Kuala Pilah and pass through Bahau first.

Its Bahau~!

After staying in Mahsan for 2 days and 1 night, we went back home to rest then started our journey to my dad's hometown, Butterworth. This is the part of this year's Chinese New Year which I would like to highlight to you.

On the way home... =)
We started journey at 4 in the evening on Wednesday (29.1.2014). Our journey was smooth in the beginning but after 30 minutes on the road, my dad who was driving heard some noises which came from our car. There must be something wrong with the car so my dad stopped at the emergency lane on the highway near Nilai exit. All of us were worried as we know how dangerous it is to stop in the emergency lane as another vehicle may collide with us! >.<

The punctured tyre
It was then that we realised that the left front tyre of the car was punctured! We do not have a spare tyre but there is this equipment in the car with the latest technology to seal the tyre with latex then inflate it. My brother and my dad tried using it but unfortunately it did not seem to work. My dad contacted the car insurance company, but the towing truck will only arrive 45 minutes later. It is dangerous to stop in the emergency lane so he decided to slowly drive to Nilai toll which was 5km away, then look for assistance there.

We stopped at the Plus building after the Nilai toll where we were approached by the 'polis bantuan'. They actually helped us by sending my dad to the nearest tyre shop whereas the rest of us waited next to the car.

However, the shop that my dad was brought to offered a price at about RM500 to change his tyre. My dad then contacted his friend in Nilai who told him that the price is not reasonable. We can easily have it done at a cheaper price. Fortunately, this friend of my dad agreed to help us change the tyre. After waiting for 2 hours, my dad came back with his friend who helped us change the punctured tyre. All of us were relieved as we can continue our journey to the north at last. It was already 7.30pm at that time. It took us 4 hours to solve this problem!
While waiting for dadee.....

The journey after that was smooth but we had to stop in the rest areas a few times for dinner and toilet breaks. It was 1.30am when we reached Penang. Unfortunately, my dad missed the turning to Butterworth as he was talking and was tired after driving for many hours. Thankfully he knows his hometown well so he managed to find his way back home using another route.

It was indeed a different experience for all of us. We were tired but at the same time relieved and grateful that we managed to reach home safely. What we need was just a good night's rest then we're ready to celebrate Chinese New Year! =)

Lastly, I would like to introduce you to this new song sung by Chen from EXO-M and Zhang Li Yin~! Its really good! =)
